2019 School Specific Programme (Tier I, Part II)

Mfantsiman Girls’ Senior High School, Central Region

117 Teachers and Heads

September 5–6, 2019

The programme for Mfantsiman Girls’ Senior High School was led by INTED Master Fellows, was a Part II follow-up to complete the Tier I teaching practice and instructional leadership modules. The first training was held during January 3-5, 2019 and reported in Activity 35.

Teachers received training on Teaching Practice modules, and Heads also received training on both Teaching Practice and Instructional Leadership modules.  This was the first programme held where the most senior INTED leader was Master Fellow Raphael Aidoo Taylor, who had just been promoted to District Director of the Ghana Education Service.

Having completed the Tier I teaching practice module on Critical Thinking Skills on the first day, teachers and leaders on a School Collaboration Plan on how to work collaboratively going forward support the use of improved teaching practices; a presentation of this plan was made to the INTED Training Team.  Teachers who did not complete the prior session received a make-up session to earn their certificates.

The two modules covered were:

Critical Thinking Skills

*  Review and School Collaboration Plan

Results: 117 teachers and heads from Mfantsiman Girls’ SHS were trained during this second part of Tier I.  All participants who completed the training received certificates. A sample of the pictures taken during this training is filed with the report and online.
