2020 School Specific Training Programme (Tier I, Part I)

Mpohor Senior High Technical School, Western Region

45 Teachers and Heads

March 12-14, 2020

The training for the teachers and heads of Mpohor Senior High Technical School, led by INTED’s Master Fellows, was our second in the New Year and last before Ghana’s lockdown response to COVID-19 that also saw the suspension of INTED’s training operations and administration.

Teachers received training on Teaching Practice modules, and the Assistant Heads and Department Heads also received training on both Teaching Practice and Instructional Leadership modules.  Each training day was dedicated to one module, where leaders received new strategies to support teaching colleagues, while teachers held strategy practice sessions in Design Studios.

The three modules covered were:

Lesson Design and Factors Affecting Student Learning

Active Student Engagement

*  Using Prior Knowledge

Results:  A sample of the pictures taken during this training is filed with the report and online.  Participants who completed the training received certificates.

"I suggest INTED should go to our basic schools to help our brother and sister teachers there.  I believe if they get these concepts and strategies, collectively, Mpohor will be an enviable district in Ghana."
